H&C Applications

H&C Applications refer to humanitarian and compassionate cases under which a person can apply for permanent resident status in Canada. Rules governing the H&C applications are laid down under Section 25 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).


Under this Caregiver program, foreign nationals living in Canada and providing home care for seniors or people with disabilities or child care are allowed to apply for permanent residency.

Permanent Resident Card

A Permanent Resident Card (PR Card) is proof of your Permanent Resident status in Canada. While entering into and exiting from Canada, you need to carry the PR Card with you every time.
